Emma J Crosby

Emma is the owner and curator at Blindwell, currently living in North Devon.

A self-taught photographer, Emma finds inspiration in the every-day, and is always on the look-out for quirky, kitsch scenes which are particularly evident in her ‘Road Trip’ series (2014-2018).  An avid believer that a photograph should represent what was actually seen, Emma’s photographs are un-staged with minimal processing.

Photographic highlights include work selected and published online by National Geographic editors in the days of ‘Your Shot’ and more recent recognition from Frames Magazine.

In 2019 Emma was shortlisted by Martin Parr and the National Portrait Gallery for the ‘Only Human’ exhibition, and was part of a group exhibition at Blank Wall Gallery in Athens.

While living in London, Emma spent much of her time photographing the wildlife and scenery of Brompton Cemetery.  Those images are still used today in the Royal Parks visitor guides, and on the information boards dotted around the cemetery.

Proud to have work held in private collections in the UK, France, USA & South Africa.

A selection of prints can be purchased through our online shop, and a full catalogue of work can be sent if preferred.
